We would like to invite you to take part in a clinical research study to determine whether or not using a mobile application can improve the ability of patients, who are trying to quit smoking, to follow their prescribed medications.
Why am I being invited to participate?
We are looking for adults 18 years of age or older who are actively seeking to quit smoking by using patches, gums, or oral medications. You must speak English and own an iOS 7 device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch). The application and a medication reminder device will be provided to you for the duration of the study. User who have and maintain a Personal Health Record (PHR) account will be given preference.
What is involved?
If you choose to participate in this study, we will ask you to do the following:
- Fill out the contact form below to indicate your interest. We will get back to you to determine if you are qualified to participate in the study.
- Install the mobile application on your iOS device and set up the medication pill box reminder device. You will need to meet us in-person for about an hour in Austin TX.
- Fill out surveys and use the application and medication pill box for a minimum of 30 days. .
Will it cost anything to participate?
Participants in this study must be willing to pay for any costs charged by their Internet/phone service providers (e.g. text message charges, data fees, or phone line charges). There are no other costs to participating in the study, and your usual medical care will not be affected. You will receive up to $100 gift card for participating in this study.
